Meet the Look Left Team: Chris Poisson, Senior Media Strategist

Get to know Look Left's Senior Media Strategist Chris Poisson

As Look Left has grown and changed over the last few years, one thing that has continued to stay the same is our dedication to garnering top-tier media placements for our clients. Even though the B2B media landscape is vast, Look Left’s Senior Media Strategist Chris Poisson not only stays on top of it but also builds relationships with reporters to keep our clients on their minds.

Chris is a 17-year veteran of the B2B enterprise marketing industry, during which he has built relationships with journalists, analysts, podcasters, and influencers across sectors such as security, development, infrastructure, healthcare, and more. Before moving into the enterprise tech industry, he was a sports editor for The Quincy Sun in Quincy, MA, just outside Boston.

Get to know Chris and the rest of the Look Left Team in our Meet the Team Q&A:

How did you find out about LLM, and what drew you to work for the company?

I’ve known Bryan since our days working together at another PR agency. When he posted a message on LinkedIn saying he was hiring, I reached out to him, and the rest is history. Several things drew me to Look Left Marketing: Bryan’s reputation as a smart PR professional with great leadership qualities, the opportunity to work with enterprise tech companies (LLM’s specialty), the chance to be part of a young startup and help it grow, and the appeal of a full-time remote position for a better work-life balance.

Prior to working here, how did you discover your passion for marketing/content development/PR/SEO?

One of my friends worked at a technology PR agency and helped me get a job there. I knew little about PR, agencies, or enterprise technology, and I struggled initially. I contemplated a career change. However, I had a manager who believed in me and offered support. After I landed my first media placement, my confidence soared. I became addicted to getting coverage for my clients, realizing that I loved using my writing skills to help tell stories that boosted their visibility.

What is your favorite part of the LLM work environment? What do you find most fulfilling about working here?

We have a healthy workplace culture at LLM. My co-workers (and my clients) are genuinely nice people. We respect each other, continuously learn from one another, and willingly lend a hand when needed. We’re professional but don’t take ourselves too seriously. There’s none of that inner-office competition that can create a toxic environment in some workplaces. We achieve goals as a team.

What is your favorite hobby, sport, or leisure activity?

I’m a big fan of fantasy football. I’ve played in a league with friends for the past 20 years. We have a lot of great memories of watching football games together and engaging in friendly banter over our fantasy teams. As our careers grew busier and we started families, fantasy football became a great vehicle for connecting us. I’ve also been in a family league for 12 years, competing against my wife, mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nephews. Two years ago, I introduced my son to fantasy football, and I’m proud to say that at age 7, he took home the family championship!

Do you have any pets? Tell us about them!

I have two rescue dogs. Tex, a 5-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mixed with an Australian Cattle Dog. He’s friendly, energetic, a bit anxious, and extremely loyal. Last year, we got him a little sister, Mae, an American Pitbull Terrier puppy mixed with a Chihuahua. It took Tex a few weeks to warm up to her, but now they are best buds. Their favorite place is Gott’s Island, ME, where we vacation in the summer. They’re off the leash with no fence and can run around freely and explore the island.
